Student membership is limited to current students enrolled at Southern Lehigh High School. We have approximately 26 student members, 20% freshman, 27% sophomores, 33% juniors and 20% seniors. Currently our team has 12 adult mentors who bring experience from a wide range of careers including chemical, mechanical, and computer/software engineering as well as industrial sales and automotive repair.

Student Leadership Positions

Leadership positions are open for nominations in October, with elections in early November. Positions available for election are Vice President (2 year term, president in second term), Secretary, Treasurer, and Spirit. Duties included in the leadership positions include but are not limited to:

President – Work with mentors to develop calendar of events, plan meetings, maintain member roster, recruit members, maintain team communications, develop & implement fundraising plan with club members and mentors
Vice-President – Assist president in their duties. Vice-President candidates cannot be above their junior year to start their office term
Secretary – Maintain website, develop announcements in school, maintain meeting bulletin board
Treasurer – Maintain accurate records, work with school payable account clerk for deposits and withdrawals of club funds, develop & implement fundraising plan with club members and mentors
Spirit – Designs club tee shirts, banners, “give-a-ways” for regional event

- Adult Mentor Memberships

Adults are welcome to join as well, please check out www.usfirst.org for more information about the FIRST robotics program. We will accept any technical area of expertise or interest relating to our program. Prior experience in a robotics challenge is helpful but not required. All adult members must successfully complete the required paperwork; included criminal and child abuse background checks, and be board approved prior to officially attending any meeting.
